Vision 2026
'Vision 2026' outlines the mission priorities for the Diocese of
Blackburn from now until the centenary of its creation in 2026. It is
inspired by the belief that response to God's love brings, 'Life in all
it's fullness' and that Faith communities make a positive contribution
to Society.
At the heart of the Vision are three ambitions:
To make disciples
By encouraging Christians to explore and deepen their personal relationship with God so that they are inspired to live out every aspect of their lives in-tune with Christ.
To empower witnesses
By enabling people to greet every day and every situation as followers of Christ who thereby make God's love present to those they encounter.
To grow leaders
By discerning and building-up individual and communal gifts and ministries to help others experience their own discovery of God.
These serve as a reminder that Christian faith is given to be passed on; to reach beyond our Church family to transform the communities within which we pray, live and work. Our call to be part of the Body of Christ invites us to be people who try our best to live fully with God and to support others as they strive to do the same.
